This textbook entitled “Rules on Evidence, Best Study Companion for Criminology and Criminal Justice Students, Professors and Practitioners” is the first in a series of “Best Study Companion Textbooks” under the area of Criminal Law and Jurisprudence for the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Forensic Science, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Security and for those who are preparing for Board Licensure Examination for Criminologists (BLEC). Although the primary focus of this textbook series is for those in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Educations, it will offer a tremendous assistance to those in the other field of studies such as Law, Legal Management, Political Science and other allied fields of discipline, considering that the provisions, theories concepts, and principles of the Constitution, laws, procedures in their related jurisprudence are one and the same across all educational programs. In this series, seven (7) textbooks are included namely: Introduction to Philippine Criminal Justice System; Human Rights Education; Criminal Law Book 1; Criminal Law Book 2; Criminal Procedure with Court Testimony; and Evidence. The author’s almost 25 years of teaching and research experiences in both regular classes (undergraduate and graduate programs) and review programs in different colleges, universities and review centers in the country as well as his technical exposure in legal practice as litigation lawyer in different courts and quasi-judicial bodies as one of the public defenders of Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) give rise to this Best Study Companion textbook Series.
