The Glossary of Terms in Forensic Report Writing and Laboratory Safety, hereafter referred to as the Crimictionary, is conceived as a comprehensive academic reference designed to strengthen the educational formation and professional readiness of criminology and forensic science students, educators, and practitioners. Recognizing that precision in language is fundamental to forensic science and criminal justice practice, this work consolidates and standardizes essential terminology necessary for accurate reporting, scientific analysis, and judicial reliability. Inconsistent or imprecise language can compromise forensic reports and weaken the evidentiary value of scientific findings; thus, this glossary promotes clarity, coherence, and terminological uniformity. This volume aligns with CHED Memorandum Order No. 05, Series of 2018 (Bachelor of Science in Criminology) and CHED Memorandum Order No. 48, Series of 2012 (Bachelor of Forensic Science). Anchored in these competency-based frameworks, the Crimictionary integrates theoretical foundations with practical investigative skills. By standardizing terminology in forensic report writing, laboratory safety, and related forensic domains, it supports outcomes-based education and strengthens the analytical and evidentiary competencies required in both academic and professional contexts.
